Let’s go!
What’s TLC?
TLC is turntabl’s 14-week intensive graduate program.
Taught by international instructors, TLC covers wide-ranging topics, such as programming fundamentals in C++, Java, functional programming with Scala, test-driven development and unit testing, machine learning with Python, relational databases, cloud infrastructure and deployment, and UIs with angular.
You also learn skills like professional business practices, agile development methodologies, and Fin-tech fundamentals.
What skills and qualifications do candidates need?
We want graduates and experienced developers with a passion for coding and learning who show excellent problem-solving and teamwork abilities. Applicants should have a relevant degree in software engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience.
You must be able to work in Ghana from our Accra office.
What happens after TLC?
After TLC, we place our graduate software engineers on client or in-house projects. You’re also assigned an Engineering Team Lead to support your growth.
What kind of projects can I work on at turntabl?
Quite a few: we support major global clients, particularly in financial services, by collaborating with their tech leaders and engineers.
turntabl Labs runs our in-house app-building projects. Recently, we built NewsAggregator, which aggregates tech news from and about Ghana and West Africa; Connie, a project allocation tool for our client project domain; and various open-source projects.
We also take up new and exciting challenges daily. Last year, we gave a talk at Kubernetes Community Days London about some of the things we learned while building our DevOps infrastructure. You can watch it here:
Can software engineers work with other experts?
Our projects mainly solve business problems, so our engineers collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Examples include product owners, business analysts, operations teams, and QA.
What’s the most valuable skill your engineers have?
Problem-solving. You must be able to design business solutions to succeed in software engineering. Our engineers gain this experience working on impactful real-world projects.
Are there employee benefits?
Certainly! Here’s a short list:
Career Progression
Competitive Salary
Health Insurance
Subsidised Gym Membership
Company Socials
20-day Annual Leave
Rent Loans
Do you offer internships?
Yes, indeed! Our internships last 6 to 8 weeks. After initial training, interns work on a project with one of our in-house teams in turntabl Labs.
Candidates must study computer science, an engineering major, or another technical subject in their penultimate year at a tertiary institution (usually level 300). We take on people with strong teamwork skills who love learning and coding. Our office is in Accra, so the right to work in Ghana is a must-have.
Applications for 2023 are now open — please apply within!
When can we meet face-to-face?
Please stop by our booths during the March and April university career fairs! Last year, we delivered guest speakers and 1-on-1 sessions at Ashesi, shared career development and employment opportunities with students at Academic City, and organised a hackathon at UCC.
Meeting us in person is an unmissable opportunity. We’ve recruited many software engineers and always look to connect with students. You can ask us anything and understand what we can offer you.
So, as we say in Ghana before we feast on a meal:
“You’re invited.”
We can’t wait to welcome you as new turntablrs, interns, or fair attendees! If you’d like to have us at your career fair or discuss any initiatives to help students prepare for employment, email community-engagement@turntabl.io.
Meanwhile, you can keep up-to-date by visiting the all-new turntabl website and following us on LinkedIn and Twitter.
